MILITARY/ VETS JOB EXPO INCLUDES CLASSES, JOB MENTORS, AND EMPLOYERS WITH JOBS

Colorado Springs – February 14, 2012- More than 100 employers, with jobs, from the Colorado Springs/Pueblo area will be on hand at the Military and Veterans Employment EXPO, February 29-March 2 in Colorado Springs.
This unique EXPO includes two days of classes covering Career Exploration, Resume Writing, Interviewing, Networking, Employer panels, and Working a Job Fair. One-on-one mentoring will also be available to help participants get ready for employer day. Those conducting the classes, as well as, our job mentors are human resources and business professionals. They are all volunteering their time to help our military and veterans get jobs.
Employer Day is March 2! Some of the participating employers are Arapahoe County Sheriff, Ciber Inc., Colorado Springs Utilities, Dish Network, JPMorgan Chase and Company, Microsoft, USAA, Progressive Insurance, and Maytag Aircraft Corporation.
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a key organization involved in sponsoring this free opportunity for all members of the military, veterans and their spouses. ESGR , an agency of the Department of Defense, seeks to promote a culture in which all American employers support and value the military service of their employees. ESGR is involved in honoring that support, providing increased awareness of the law related to civilian employment of Guard and Reserve members and resolving conflicts through mediation.
Other sponsoring organizations include Colorado Dept. of Labor and Employment, the U.S. Veterans Affairs Department, the Colorado National Guard, the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, Return 2 Work, Employment Partnership of the Armed Forces and Homeland Security Careers, and Goodwill Industries.
